"NO TO PLASTIC" to "KNOW THE PLASTIC" when we are living in PLASTIC AGE

These days we hear a very common phrase say "NO TO PLASTIC". Is it practically possible to stay away from plastic in our modern world when practically we are living in PLASTIC AGE. Can we change the phrase from "NO TO PLASTIC" to "KNOW THE PLASTIC"

In our modern world we start our day with plastics. The first thing we hold on in our hand in morning is toothbrush, a mug or a bucket and like. And all are plastic. The gadgets we use say mobile, tab, computer, TV extra would not be there if we say no to plastic. Today 50% of our automobile is of plastic. Our fabrics like polyester or nylon are also not less than plastics. Or in short if we talk in a fairy tail language and say Plastic Choomantar then probably half of our population will be without clothes. All our gadgets will be Choomantar. So can we stay away from plastic. Should we not say.. KNOW THE PLASTIC.

When it comes to metal almost all people, be it a professor, a doctor, a engineer or even home maker knows the difference between stainless-steel, aluminium, bronze, copper or Gold, but how many of us really know the kinds of plastics we use, be it commonly used polymer like PP, HDPE, PVC, Polystyrene or engineering plastics like Nylon Polyacetal, Polycarbonate and the numerous to name. We simply say- Bring plastic bucket... or a plastic toy...

And to remind you all, Plastic is just not a carry bag, it is much beyond and the only thing we need to do is know more about plastics. Proper way of using it and proper way of disposing it.

If we use plastics to make our furnitures, doors and windows probably we will be helping more trees to live their life. And when we talk about energy then we all know that plastic needs much less energy to give it a shape then to the metal or the glass.

Now it is a high time that we should spread proper awareness in the common how to use plastic, when to use plastic and where to use plastic. A simple corrections in our uses with the help of common man and the governing body we can spread awareness for proper use.

Almost all household stacks there newspapers for the monthly or the yearly disposal. How about if we use the same formula when it comes to plastic.

Can't our municipality be trained for proper disposal of recyclable and solid waste?

Our per capita consumption of plastic is about 10 kgs per annum then in compared to around 100 kgs in US or 50 kgs in Europe. And if they can develop a proper system for disposal of recyclable then why can't we.

We should come forward with more and more recyclable plastic units and that can be achieved only if we have the proper disposal system.

Most of the thermoplastic we use are recyclable. And there are various ways we can give our plastic a healthy disposal and for that the only thing required is that we become more responsible towards our society and environment.
